Mani Monday: Neon Yellow

I was so happy to receive this neon yellow polish, aptly titled “Electric Shock”, courtesy of Nail Chemistry. How bright and fun is this colour?! As I’m sure you’ve seen, neon is all the rage this season, and my favourite way to incorporate this trend into my wardrobe is through pops of brightness here and there, like on my nails or through my accessories, as an unexpected way to brighten up my outfit.

I love this colour and am so excited to tell you about Nail Chemistry, a brand new product line that I recently discovered. Its founder, Jen Christie, was on maternity leave when she decided to create an environmentally responsible polish line that didn’t compromise on quality, range of colours, or price. Nail Chemistry varnishes are vegan, free of harsh chemicals, and not tested on animals. For those ladies out there that bite the polish off your nails, this means that you don’t have to worry about ingesting traces of formaldehyde or toluene, which can still be found in some brands.

In terms of my experience, my favourite thing about this nail polish is how quickly it dries! I am a girl on the go and I hate when I have to sit around for an hour after my manicure being super delicate and gentle with my hands so I don’t knick the polish (although I must say it is a great excuse to use when my husband is nagging me to do dishes)! This colour, Electric Shock, did require three coats of coverage though, which you can see a bit in the photo above where I didn't layer it perfectly. Usually I prefer to only use two coats considering I add base and top coat as well, but because the varnish is thin it worked out just fine.

Overall, I really like Nail Chemistry and find it to be a quality and genuine brand. I love supporting small businesses and at such a reasonable price this is guilt-free shopping at its best. These polishes are currently being offered at $4 per bottle so hurry up and snatch them while they’re still on promotion! To order you can contact Jen directly at or through Twitter.
